Erindale has an extensive and beautiful system of gardens throughout the complex. The gardens and spaces belong to us all and we encourage residents to enjoy and care for the gardens (it’s not just the responsibility of the ‘Body Corporate’) In 2023 a landscaping and garden group was established to create a long term plan which will act as a guide to decisions regarding landscaping, garden renewal and plant selection. The group will focus on minimising maintenance, making the gardens sustainable, water efficient and aesthetically pleasing. Areas will be established allowing cool places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Fauna friendly areas will be created providing nesting opportunities for birds, hiding places for local reptiles such as blue tongue skinks and establishment of native bee hives.
In 2022, a community garden was established. Residents are encouraged to get involved as regular volunteers, or casual helpers, to grow vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers to be shared by all who live here. Children are welcome to help with the gardening, under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
All residents are encouraged to be involved with the gardens and care of the property.
Please feel free to pull out any weeds you see. It’s up to us all to keep the gardens looking good.
