The most obvious work happening through September and October has been fence painting, particularly around the entries. Less obvious has been a start to replacing a fence next to the community garden. The fence was in very poor condition and after an agreement with the neighbour work has begun on a replacement. This fence would have been replaced regardless of developing the easement for the benefit of residents. Our photo shows a view of the easement that may not be seen again for a very long time.
The new fence will be completed over the next two weeks. It will provide better privacy for our neighbour and our residents in this common area. When the work is finished it will be possible to focus on the next steps to be taken in developing the easement. Progress can seem slow however it is only twelve months since work began.
Also, thanks to the residents that have been helping with the Erindale Close gardens. Most of the plants in the garden were old and well past their best. As well the soil was depleted and lifeless. A group of residents have put considerable effort into preparing the gardens for replanting. While there is still some more cleaning up to do we will shortly add new soil and efforts will be made to bring the soil and garden back to life. Our goal is to have the Erindale Close entry look well cared for and inviting.
